What is the Climate Commitment Act?
The Climate Commitment Act (CCA) is a Washington state cap-and-invest program that reduces pollution from greenhouse gases and invests in communities that are most impacted by climate change. The CCA raises revenue from auctions where companies purchase allowances to emit greenhouse gas. Revenue raised by CCA is invested in Washington’s air quality, agriculture, forest health, wildfire resilience, transportation systems, low-income energy assistance, and clean water and restoration projects.
