Precinct Committee Officers (PCO) represent the Democratic Party within their precinct and are the primary point of contact for Democratic voters in their neighborhood. They are elected on the primary ballot in even numbered year elections and serve two year terms

PCOs elect officers in both their County and Legislative District party organizations and in the case of a vacancy, vote to recommend appointments to the State Legislature

The most important role of the PCO is to organize other Democrats in their neighborhood precinct to talk to voters directly and help elect Democratic candidates.
