Today, mass deportation raids are beginning across the country. Families will be torn apart, children left without their parents, and communities plunged into fear. But we all have rights—regardless of citizenship status. It’s crucial to remember: You do NOT have to speak to ICE without a judicial warrant. If ICE agents come to your home or workplace, ask to see a warrant signed by a judge. Many will try to use non-qualifying paperwork—don’t let them in without proper documentation. You have the right to remain silent. Assert this right. You have the right to a lawyer. Demand one. We must ensure everyone in our communities knows these rights. Please share this information widely—because knowledge is power in the face of fear. Today, we’re reminded of our film, Immigrant Stories: Teachers. The film shines a light on the devastating impact of ICE raids on children and their families. Fatima Avelica’s story is one of thousands: a 13-year-old girl sobbing in the backseat of her family car as ICE agents arrested her father on the way to school. Her teachers, like so many others, were left picking up the pieces of her shattered life. As Trump’s second presidency begins, we are gearing up to produce more critical videos exposing the human cost of these policies and fighting back against the injustices immigrants face daily. But we need your help to keep going. Watch Immigrant Stories: Teachersto better understand the stakes. Share this email with your network to ensure everyone knows their rights. Donate nowto support the production of powerful films that educate, inspire, and mobilize against injustice. Together, we can stand up for immigrant families and fight back against these draconian policies. Onward, Brave New Films https://www.bravenewfilms.org/
