NEXT MEETING  Monday Nov. 5th at 6pm • DEMOCRATIC HEADQUARTERS • 1118 14th Ave, Longview, WA

This meeting will be a short business meeting.
Everyone is encouraged to stick around to make phone calls or contact voters to help Get Out the Vote! afterwards .
Nominations for new Officers for 2019-2010:  A Nominating Committee has formed and they are reaching out to members to encourage more participation in leadership for the party.  If you are interested in a leadership position, or know someone who is interested, please contact Twylla Corrie, Chair of the Nominating Committee at this email address:  If interested, please contact Twylla and plan to come to the November 5 meeting to talk about your interest in one of the open positions. We’re hoping to foster as much participation as possible and have multiple people running for the offices this time. Here is a summary of the leadership positions available (all positions are for 2 year terms):     


Basic Description

Who Votes

Chair Party Spokesperson, overall Party Leader for the 2 Year Term.  Has full voting rights and may attend all State-level meetings and Conventions. PCOs only
Vice Chair Leads Executive Board Meetings, supports and fills in for Chair, and does special projects as assigned. (We strive to have the input of all gender identities.  If Both the Chair and the Vice Chair are of the same gender, we will likely have 2 Vice Chairs on the leadership team). PCOs only
(2) State Committee persons There are two different positions for people of two different genders. This position attends and has full voting rights at the State Committee and also as a member of our local Executive Board.  PCOs only
Treasurer Responsible for all financial tracking, budgeting and reporting for Central Committee. PCOs and all members
Secretary Prepares and distributes meeting minutes and official Party correspondence. PCOs and all members
(2) At-Large Executive Board Members  Attends and has full voting rights at monthly Executive Board Meetings. Special Projects as assigned. PCOs and all members

Elaine Cockrell, our PCO Coordinator, will be sending out separate correspondence to PCOs regarding voting credentials for the upcoming December meeting.

We will not have a raffle at this next meeting.  We’re focused on getting out the vote and planning for next year.  

Also, there will be an Election Night Party at the Headquarters on Election Night – November 6, 2018.  This is being organized by The Lower Columbia Indivisibles and will include a potato and dessert bar.  If you can bring a potato topping or a dessert, please do so!  The potatoes will be provided. RSVP on the Facebook event  on our Cowlitz County Democrats page where you can reach out to let them know if you are planning to come and what you can bring.
